In March 2015, the Our Hometown Charitable Foundation was established as a non-profit organization with a mission to enhance the lives of individuals in their community. The foundation's main goal was to refurbish The Midway Theater, a project that took nearly two years to complete. This renovation was made possible through fundraising, personal and corporate contributions, grants, donated professional services, and thousands of volunteer hours. The restoration of The Midway included new bathrooms, seating, a digital projector, and an upgraded concession area. In December 2016, a century after its initial construction, The Midway's screen illuminated once again. Following the theater's self-sufficiency, a theater committee was established, leading to financial independence from OHCF. The Midway Theater currently relies heavily on volunteers for its operations, and its sustainability is maintained not just by ticket and concessions revenue, but also through donations, grants, and sponsorships.
Since The Midway reopened in late 2016, it has welcomed thousands of visitors, showcased numerous films on its big screen, and served as a stunning setting for concerts, meetings, parties, and community gatherings. Despite the tremendous support received, the digital projector and concession equipment have required expensive repairs and upkeep. To ensure the theater and its equipment's continued operation, we are reaching out for assistance in covering some of the costs for their maintenance and repair.
The sponsorship will aid The Midway Theater in covering costs for concession equipment and digital projector repairs. With extra funding, repairs can be completed promptly, reducing downtime for both projector and concessions maintenance. These necessary repairs will enable The Midway to boost ticket and concession sales without raising prices. The funds will contribute to the theater's longevity, ensuring it can be enjoyed by future generations.
